The next day, we headed to Kearney, Nebraska. Here are the boys riding on the luggage cart before we left the hotel. These luggage carts were very essential during our trip as we had an extremly large suitcase, a medicine/makeup bag, a diaper bag, a toy bag, a swim bag, a cooler, a snack bag, a laptop, a bumbo, a can of formula, a 3 year old, a 2 year old, and 7 month old in a carseat to take up to our hotel room every night.
On our way to Kearney, we stopped at the Ford Cody Trading Post in North Platte, Nebraska. I have stopped at this store many times, but this was the first time for my kids.

On Day 3, we headed to Altoona, Iowa. After staying the night in Altoona, we went to Adventureland Theme Park. The boys loved the rides, especially the Carousel. Unfortunately, Sadie developed allergies while we were there and started wheezing, so we only stayed for a few hours. We ended up taking Sadie to the doctor in Iowa and she was put on a steroid to help her breathing. We stayed in Cedar Rapids, Iowa that night.

The next day, we headed to our destination, White Pines State Park in Illinois. On the way to the park, we stopped in Oregon, Illinois. Oregon is where my mom lived until she was 12. My mom's dad died when she was 10 from emphysema and her mom died when she was 12 from breast cancer. So, when her mom died, she moved with her siblings to Rock Falls, Illinois to live with her uncle. It was fun to visit the the house where she grew up in and the park where she use to play at.

The next day was my cousin Jenna's wedding. Here are a few pictures of the kids in their cute clothes.

During the wedding, my mom and I did everything we could to keep the boys quiet including giving them new toys, blowing bubbles, and giving them candy. Here is a picture of Sadie during the wedding and a picture of the boys chewing their candy.

The next day, we attended a family picnic in White Pines Park. It was really hot and pretty miserable, so we decided to only stay for a couple of hours. Here is my mom with her siblings Fred, Jane, and Tom and another pic of my mom with her sister Jane and her daughter Jenna.

The next day, we headed back to Altoona, Iowa. We swam that night and got to bed pretty early. The next day, we woke up early and headed back to Kearney, Nebraska. We stopped at the North Platte Arch which was built over Interstate 80. This was my 4th time visiting the Arch and I was excited to take the kids there. They weren't quite old enough to enjoy the history behind it, but it was still fun to get out of the car for a while.

The next day, we headed to Rawlins, Wyoming. We decided to stop at the original Cabelas in Sydney, Nebraska to expose the boys to a life-long hobby that they will be enjoying with their father in a few years. They loved the mounted animals and the many hunting toys that they had displayed. After wandering the store for an hour, we ate lunch at the cafe, and headed to Rawlins.

The next day we headed back home to Logan. My mom stayed the night with us and then went back to Idaho Falls. Overall, we had a great time on the trip. We made many memories together and took lots of pictures. I'm so glad that my kids had the opportunity to see a good part of the country, even if they won't remember it. Thank you mom for the great experience and the many souvenirs. I hope we will get the opportunity to do it again!
