Las Vegas!

It is 4:30 in the morning and I am blogging because Dillon and Braylon have been throwing up all night long and I have too much anxiety to go back to sleep. I have a HUGE fear of seeing or hearing people vomit so luckily, I have an understanding husband that takes care of the kids when they are sick like this. Since I am now wide awake, I decided that it would be a great opportunity to blog about our Las Vegas trip that we took last weekend. I will not be posting any pictures as we left our camera in our Salt Lake hotel room the morning we flew out, so all of our pictures were taken with a disposable camera.

So, to start off, we left Friday afternoon and drove down to Salt Lake to eat dinner and to go to the Jazz vs Suns game. We ate at the Macaroni Grill and then headed to the game. The game was really fun, but the Jazz lost, so we were a little disappointed. We flew out Saturday morning and when we landed in Las Vegas, we decided that we definitely wanted to drive up to the Temple as both of us had never seen it before. The temple is about 20 minutes from the Strip and you have to drive through the ghetto to get there. When we finally got there, we both had an overwhelming feeling of comfort and calmness. We loved just walking around the beautiful grounds and enjoying the magnificent, spiritual building. That was definitely our favorite part of the trip.

After seeing the temple, we decided to drive to the famous Gold and Silver Pawn Shop. Jarom and I are huge fans of the History Channel's show, "Pawn Stars," so we were really looking forward to seeing the pawn shop that the show features. We waited in line for about 20 minutes and then we were finally allowed to go in. The owners featured on the show were not working as it was a Saturday, but it was still neat to see all of the amazing stuff that was for sale.

After the pawn shop, we checked into the Luxor and spent the remainder of our weekend gambling (we lost over $200), walking up and down the Strip, seeing the Bodies and Titanic Exhibits, and riding on the enormous roller coaster on top of the New York New York Casino. We flew home Monday morning. Overall, it was a fun, little get-away, but Jarom and I have decided that we probably won't be going back to Vegas anytime soon. We just don't fit in there. I am so greatful that my mom was willing to watch our kiddies and to spoil them rotten. We are hoping to plan our next trip soon... DISNEYLAND!

So sorry that your kiddos are sick. That is not fun at all. Especially throw up sick for you ;) Your trip sounds like it was so much fun! I've never been to Vegas so I don't know how much I'd fit in either. Glad you were able to get away for a litt bit.
