Milestones

For the last couple of weeks, we have been really busy trying to accomplish some things that would make our lives a little easier going into the summer months. First of all, about a week and a half ago, I decided to take on the task of potty training Braylon. I had been reluctant to even try with him because he was so adament against even just wearing the underwear. But, I was determined to only have one child in diapers, so I knew that I just had to stick it out. That morning, I put on his underwear and he literally cried for three hours, begging me to take them off. After he realized that I wasn't going to, he was fine. After holding his pee all day, I finally caught him having to go and so I put him on the potty. Ever since then, he has not had any accidents and he can even go all night without having to go to the bathroom. It has been SO easy. I'm so proud of our little Braylon. Here he is sporting his "big boy pants."
Also, as some of you know, Sadie has slept in her swing ever since she was a newborn. On occasion, I would try and put her in the crib, but she would cry hysterically, so it was just too easy to throw her back in the swing where I knew that she would sleep well. Also, Sadie has horrible allergies and asthma, so I knew that sleeping upright in the swing was probably helping her with that. Well, about three weeks ago, she started getting out of her swing in the middle of the night. Jarom and I knew that it was that dreaded time to put her in the crib as we were definitely not going to put her in our bed. So, I laid her down and she cried hysterically for about five minutes and then she was fine. The next day, I did the same thing and she didn't even cry. Needless to say, she has been sleeping in her crib ever since and we were finally able to get rid of her broken, worn-out swing.

Lastly, I have been trying to redecorate Sadie's room to look more like a little girl's room instead of a baby's room. I decided to get rid of her changing table and purchase a cute little bookcase and toy organizer to match the other decorations in her room. I also bought a cute chair from Pottery Barn that is personalized so that she can sit and read her books. I still want to get some matching curtains and rods, but for now, I think it looks pretty cute and Sadie definitely loves it.

Here is a recent pic of my little princess. She makes us smile everyday!
