In early April of this year, Jarom was given a job offer to work in several CenturyLink Call Centers as a Directv Marketer. This job required us to move to Boise. After considering the pros and cons of taking the offer, we decided that the best decision for our family and particularly Jarom's long-term career, was to take the job and move to Boise. So, after only living back in Idaho Falls for 7 months, we quickly packed up our things and moved into a rental home in Southwest Boise.
We have lived here now for 2 months and have not missed any opportunities to explore our new city. It seems like every weekend is filled with an exhausting, yet fun-filled event that we have missed out on while living in smaller cities.
One of our favorite things to do is to go downtown Boise and walk through the Farmer's Market and the many vendors that are displayed.
We have also visited the Boise Zoo which was definitely fun, but not all that impressive.
We have done plenty of relaxing outside and soaking up the warmer weather.
Jarom and I both bought bikes, so we now enjoy going on family bike rides.
There are 2 nice playgrounds in our subdivision that we visit frequently.
Dillon went to his end of the school year BBQ where he met his Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Baker. He was super excited to receive his Kindergarten Graduation Certificate. The plan for him for next year is to finish the second half of 1st Grade and then completely finish 2nd Grade. He is already reading chapter books and learning multiplication. He is such a smart boy and we are so proud to be his parents. Way to go, Dillon!
We took the kids bowling for the first time! Although all 5 of us had terrible scores, we had so much fun!
Dillon lost his first tooth! The Toothfairy paid him a visit that night and left him $2. Two weeks later, he lost the tooth beside it.
The kids and I even made a quick trip back to Idaho Falls for Grandpa Johnson's 80th Birthday Bash.
After coming back from Idaho Falls, we took the kids to the Circus! Other than Jarom getting into a verbal altercation with some of the circus protesters, it was a fun day.
On June 25, I turned 28! Jarom was working out of town, so the kids and I just celebrated it by going to Monsters University in 3D. It was such a cute a movie! After the movie, we went to dinner and then enjoyed some delicious Texas Sheet Cake. It was definitely a low-key birthday, but that is what I've come to enjoy as I'm getting older.
The weekend after my birthday, Jarom convinced us to go to Ribfest 2013 in Nampa. Checking out BBQ food and smokers in the 105 degree weather is definitely not my idea of fun, but the kids seemed to enjoy it, especially while drinking their icees.
I've also enrolled the kids in many activities...Dillon is playing tennis and tee ball, Braylon is playing tee ball, and Sadie is starting dance class. Here she is in her cute dance attire.
It has definitely been a busy 2 months here. So far, we really like Boise and are looking forward to what it has to offer our family!
