The 4th of July was really fun this year as my mom and Travis and Mary came to Boise to celebrate it with us. One of my favorite things to do for the 4th is to dress the kids in patriotic outfits. This year, I even painted Sadie's nails patriotically.
In the morning, we took the kids to the Boise Parade. The parade was decent, but nothing spectacular. Even though there are 4 times the amount of people who live in Boise than Idaho Falls, I think there are more people that attend the Idaho Falls Parade than the Boise Parade. I was pretty surprised by that.
The kids just couldn't get enough of their baby cousin, Alexis.
For dinner that night, Jarom smoked some delicious ribs and veggies. He is getting to be a pro with that smoker. After dinner we went to the Boise Horse Races. The kids had a lot of fun taking turns, betting on the horses that they thought would win the race. Surprisingly, we actually won a few races.
After the horse races, we made our way to the fireworks show. Here we are, waiting for the show to start...
Once again, the fireworks were decent, but nothing spectacular. Having experienced the 4th in Idaho Falls and now Boise, I definitely think that we will be making a trip into Idaho Falls for the 4th next year. Overall, it was a fun day and we are so glad that we were able to have some family here to enjoy it with.
