With fall beginning, I just wanted to document some of the fun things that we did over the summer break. As usual, it was a busy, yet super fun summer, especially because we were able to enjoy some new experiences here in Boise.
Back in July, I made another trip into Idaho Falls for an appointment. Everyone has told me how great and inexpensive Rexburg Rapids is, so I finally decided to take the kids there. The kids had such a great time and we were definitely not disappointed.
The boys played late summer tee ball this year and they definitely had a blast. They were on the same team and they both excelled at many positions.
Sadie loved cheering her brothers on!
In late July, Sadie participated in a week-long dance camp with a Boise dance company. Although she was the youngest one in the camp, she surprisingly, danced as well as the other girls. Being the only 3 year old, she performed her dance by herself. She remembered all of her steps and she was not nervous at all. It was so cute! She is currently enrolled in dance classes through next spring and we are looking forward to many more of her performances!
Since we've been in Boise, it has been quite an adjustment getting use to the 100 degree weather day after day. One way we have learned to cope with the heat is by going to a local splash park. This day, we decided to have a picnic first and then went on to enjoy the splash pods. The kids could play there for hours!
Since it was so hot this summer, we found ourselves doing a lot of activities indoors. On this day, the kids had a good time putting together this Scooby Doo floor puzzle.
We've had a lot of snow cones to try and stay cool as well!
We let the kids make their own homemade pepperoni pizza!
They did a great job!
One night, we decided to support the local semi pro baseball team, the Boise Hawks!
Sadie finally learned how to write her name!
In August, we went to the Western Idaho Fair. Although we had a good time, it was once again, so hot, and definitely not as entertaining as the Eastern Idaho Fair.
On August 19th, Dillon and Braylon started school with the INSPIRE Connections Academy. Dillon's teacher this year is Mrs. Holmquist, and he is hoping to finish the second semester of 1st Grade and then finish at least half of 2nd Grade.
Braylon started Kindergarten and his teacher is Mrs. Baker. Braylon has already started to read and we are hoping that he has a successful year of Kindergarten.
We are definitely sad that summer is over, but we are looking forward to fall and our family's busiest time of year.
