Dillon's 5th Birthday!

On October 2nd, Dillon turned 5! Wow...I can't believe I have a 5 year old. Now, I know that I'm not old by any means, but since I have had kids, it seems like the time is flying and turning 30 is fast approaching. Anyways, Dillon has been so excited for his 5th Birthday for months now so we definitely wanted to make it an extra special day for him. When he woke up, he excitedly put on his new "Birthday Boy" shirt.

He wanted circus waffles and bacon for his special birthday breakfast.

Dillon has been really into superheroes lately, particularly Thor, so we decided to have a Thor themed birthday party with a Thor cake. My mom and I have been experimenting with fondant lately and we decided that it would be good practice to incorporate some fondant into Dillon's cake. We thought it turned out really cute.

My parents came down to Logan to celebrate with Dillon on his special day.

Dillon is starting to hit the video gamer stage, so Jarom and I decided to get him a Nintendo DSi XL with a couple of games for his birthday. My parents got him a Melissa & Doug Easel with accessories and my sister got him a Thor Hammer. He is definitely a spoiled kid!

Dillon is such a blessing to our family. I just wanted to list a few qualities that I adore about my sweet, little boy. He has so much spunk and energy! From the moment I gave birth to him, he has not stopped moving. He has always been so active which translated into him crawling at 5 1/2 months and walking at 8 1/2 months. He has always loved to dance and often makes up his own goofy dance moves which never fails to make people laugh. We have recently tried to put his energy to good use by putting him in tennis which he has definitely excelled at. His teacher has told us that he is probably at a 7 or 8 year old's skill level which totally impresses us.

Dillon is SO smart! He learned his colors, shapes, and letters at an early age and was even able to write his name shortly after he turned 3. He is now able to read many 3-letter words and is getting excited to attend Kindergarten next year.

Most importantly, Dillon is such a loving little boy. He loves Braylon and Sadie and is very protective of them. He is always trying to make sure that they are okay and that they are happy. He loves to be cuddled and will often come up to me and want to give me a hug or a kiss. He is always telling us that he loves us and that we are the best parents in the world.

I can't imagine my life without Dillon. I hope that the next five years goes by a little bit slower so that I can really cherish every moment that I have with him. I love you, Dillon!

Happy Birthday, Dillon!

I am sad we didn't get to see him on his b-day! But, looks like it was a great day! :)
